Krotkie strzeszczenie bylo, w formie "Shadoo sie tlumaczy"^^.

Uwaga, wklejam wall of text po angielsku.

Good Evening Friends the title of tonight's post is 'There is always 2 sides to a story'

This evening I come to you with a heavy heart, regarding Thorn alliance's departure from the hbc. After Lucian James plain distasteful post yesterday with regards to their leaving of the coalition, I believe it is my responsibility to come to you and explain what actually happened with regards to thorn in the past 2 weeks and what lead up to them leaving. Thorn was in fact in line to be kicked from the coalition, but instead fell on their sword and decided to pull out.

Let me take you back to just over 2 weeks ago when I was asked to take over the hbc in the shade of the drama surrounding Montolio's departure, due partly to stress and having to deal with multiple things including logs leaked by thorn with regards to the situation between them and raiden.

Firstly, let's cover the Thorn side of things.

You all know the history of thorn so I will not go on and give you a long winding tale about their past. Fast forward to the recent drama regarding them and Raiden. This came about when Selest, the leader of raiden, came forward to Montolio with an intent to secure the rest of querious (outside of initiative’s sov) for his alliance. A proposal was written up and handed to Montolio. The proposal was well written and even though it saw thorn losing the 1 constellation they owned in querious, it left thorn with next to an entire region to live in. This is where things went horribly wrong, a lot of things happened all at once when the plan became public knowledge, people were in an uproar, some with valid points, some just talking absolute shit. This is where the current terminology of 'Fuck Raiden' was born. After much thought Montolio made the decision to approve Raiden's proposal and go ahead with the plan to hand over all non init sov in querious to raiden. It is important to remember that the original proposal was not directed solely at thorn, it was directed at all residents of querious with an intent to reshape all of querious, The aim was for querious to scaled down until there were only 2 single sov holding alliances remaining, those being Init and Rdn.

One of the main problems and the reason for the forced scaling down of Thorn's holdings and removal of their querious sov, was for the simple fact that Thorn's alliance leadership was, to put it simply, a joke. Their leadership, if you could call it that, consisted of 4 people; 2 of which were unable to be contacted or communicated with most of the time, one of those being the actual CEO of Thorn. Of the other 2, 1 was Lucian James who was completely incompetent at leading anything and a perpetual drama queen. The last member of this band of 4, being the most useful in Thorn leadership, even though he actually in fact had no power at all in thorn, Alphastarpilot. Alpha was a huge help, but in fact could not enact any real change inside thorn as a whole which basically made him redundant.

To put it simply, on a base line grunt cannon fodder level, thorn was great they brought bums on seats, their pilots were easy to get along with and for the most part really fit in well. The problem was completely and utterly their leadership. Thorn was a veteran sov holding alliance making so many rookie mistakes that were costing the coalition a hell of a lot of trouble. For example, not securing important systems correctly, which caused small yet important hostile victories by killing and capturing sov in these systems. Another mistake continually made by thorn was a complete lack of communication to the coalition with regards to issues had or problems arising. The reason for this was the simple fact that they were not active enough to notice these problems or simply didn't care.

On the day Montolio quit, Thorn leaked to the public on the forum kugutsumen a list of logs taken completely out of context, which made both the current leader of the coalition look weak and started a hate war against another alliance in the coalition. The reasoning for this was plain and simple, to make thorn look like the battered wife that was hard done by and bullied into a hidden agenda by the leadership of the hbc. Thorn did not really care about how this affected the coalition when they leaked this, the fallout for this was in fact the straw that broke the camel's back. The coalition was made to look weak and unstable and thorn got all the attention they longed for. But the one important thing to remember, with all the good attention you think you are getting, you also attract just as much unwanted bad attention. And that's where I came in, this file landed on my desk as the most important thing to deal with once I took over. After numerous convo's with the suddenly active thorn leadership it was evident that they were unhappy. After the public stunt with the logs, there was no way in hell I was willing to give thorn an inch of the sov in querious that was transferred to raiden. Instead to help thorn get back on the right track, I compensated Thorn out of my own pocket to the value of 7 bil to help pay for the cost of what they being asked to give over to raiden in the switch. Raiden in turn also planned to compensate them to the combined value of 20bil.

This is where I started to smell a rat. From other sources outside of the hbc I was being told that thorn was looking for a new home. Even after I had given thorn the 'get out of hbc free card' they were still looking for a way out, this was indeed fair after what had happened, but all I had asked for from them was a little honesty. The next sour grape I had to taste was during a hbc strat op over to esoteria, where a pilot from thorn enlightened myself and the fleet that if he lost his rokh on this fleet then there would be no reimbursement, no subsidy, no help at all to get him into a new rokh. This, I found out was due to thorn's apparent lack of funds, which I knew was a lie. I knew this, as the day before I had been sent the google document of thorn's accounts, financial structure and reimbursement program and the numbers simply didn't add up. The same day this came to light, I was sent a message on jabber from another alliance leader in the coalition who had some disturbing news for me. Thorn's leadership was going around to different corps (and in fact some of the smaller alliances) and asking them to cut ties and leave with them. This was not going to be tolerated and the final thing that made up my mind. So what did I decide? I decided Thorn's time in the hbc had come to an end.

Since Monday I attempted to hunt down the elusive thorn leadership. Did I succeed? Hell no, I didn't. Suddenly yesterday afternoon, Lucian after my many attempts at contacting him finally replies and tells me we need to talk. He announces to me as of right now his alliance is no longer a member of the hbc. HALLELUJAH I say, well not really but you get the point. I will admit I felt a little cheated, I had gotten all dressed up, put on my nice kicking boots, and instead I walk into the room to find thorn had instead decided to impale itself on its sword. The thing that really stung was the fact that the little cry baby that is Lucian James, did not have the balls to shut the door nicely on his way out. He had to in fact post a big long crying splurge about how the hbc leadership hated thorn and they got picked on. I would just like to clarify something from the leadership, we didn't hate thorn, Lucian we hated you and only disliked the leadership that came along with you.

Now that I have posted the shit out of the stuff about thorn, onto Raiden.

Raiden isn't clean of this whole thing at all, I am not going to sit before you here and say they are. Did they take advantage of a particular situation for their own alliance gain? Yes. Did they go about this the wrong way? Yes. Did they deserve the heat they got from this and be given sole blame of this? Hell no.

Raiden is a strange alliance they do not believe in causing public trouble, they are very much a keep to themselves alliance and they integrate well with the hbc but there is always room for improvement. Now with thorn gone Raiden still remains in the coalition and I would ask that people give them a chance to actually show their true worth. A lot of people are happy to shit on rdn as people feel they are an easy target, but it is important to remember that even though someone may not be vocal it does not mean they are not doing something of use. The fact is rdn along with all the other alliances around catch and esoteria are really working together to do god's work and defend the space in the south. Day in day out they form in fleets together with other alliances (not just alone) and go out to fight the residents of stain, even though their own space isn't at all threatened. Raiden may have gone about the whole thorn situation the wrong way but they did in fact deserve the space they asked for and this was the reason why they were given it. Their leadership is active, they communicate with the other alliance's in the hbc well and are generally, from a leadership position, really easy to get along with. I will try in the future to make it possible for all to know what is going on from all corners of the hbc empire, to show everyone what alliance's like raiden, troll and tribe to name a few are actually doing, and to prove to everyone that even though an alliance may not be as vocal about what they are doing, they still get their day in the sunlight.

After all this has come to light I have realised there are still some changes (even some I hadn't thought of) that need to be implemented with regards to how we do things, including how we show upcoming ops. I am working with the IT team to maybe create an op timer board, this board will show all ops coming up, including form up location, which comms you need to be on and what ships you will need to be in (but thats for another wall of text). Hopefully this will help with integration across the whole coalition.

znaczenie ? Taka spinka non-stop i walka z wiatrakami jakby miały :)

Ale prawdą jest, że there is no HBC...

A TRIBE zostało wyznaczone do czyszczenia Stain.

W skrocie: uwazajcie miedzy 19-21 kwietnia w Jita, bo Goonsi planuja Jita Burning 2.0.

Jita burning 2.0
From:Zarnoo
To:Brothers of Tangra
Date:2013-04-08 20:52:00

All,
On the dates April 19-21 in Jita there will be coordinated attacks on all freighter/cargo ship as well as any ships with lower ehp tanks. The attacks are coordinated by Goonswarm and their allies and corps that wish to join in the carnage. The objective is to destroy as many mineral expensive ships as possible thus creating demand for high end minerals as well moon goo, which will cause the prices to soar and making the suppliers wealthier.

CCP has announced intentions of restructuring the way Tech materials (moon goo components) are made so that it is more readily available for everyone. That will lower the profits of the null sec corps that profit heavily on moon goo. There are no details as far as i know but it will not be in the favor of null sec players most likely.

If you all play your cards right, stay out of Jita a few days before and after the dates above you should enjoy good profits while selling your minerals/goo in the markets after the attack. Hundreds of ships should be destroyed and will need to be rebuilt. Even investing in Tritanium "should" be a good investment as the prices should see a moderate increase due to the huge demand after the carnage in Jita. (these statements are not monetarily backed by my wallet, if you lose in the market lol)

Be sure to tell your jump freighter "friends" (if they don't already know) to stay out of Jita.

Stats from the 1st Burn Jita attack:
14 Jump Freighters Killed: 140.7 Billion ISK
57 Freighters Killed: 258.445 Billion ISK
97 T1 Industrials Killed: 15.308 Billion ISK
25 T2 Industrials Killed: 12.399 Billion ISK
26 Exhumers Killed: 8.84 Billion ISK
(several) T3 Cruisers: 6.3 Billion ISK
25 Pods with values exceeding half a billion ISK (1 over a billion)

The attackers lost:
Thrashers: 1158 at a cost of 9.095 Billion ISK to the Alliance
Tornados: 1334 at a cost of 149.93 Billion ISK to the Alliance
Battleships: 202 at a cost of 23.18 Billion ISK to the Alliance

Fly safe
Welcome to EVE. If you aren't busy finding some way to injure or at least mildly inconvenience another player, you have a lot of catching up to do.

Nawet gdyby to bylo cos powaznego, to Shadoo wezmie obie poroznione strony na kolanko i im wytlumaczy, zeby sie pogodzili bo wojna szkodzi interesom :>

Alright, so while I feel a bit silly posting in a 19 page thread that has gone from pillar to post, I'd feel even dumber about posting yet another thread about a dumb subject like this. Let's start from the basics, since I'm still unable to accurately piece everything together and literally only have 1/2 sides of the story.

First of all, to understand anything about Pandemic Legion -- you have to acknowledge and realize we're run a little differently from most other alliances out there. This is the core of it: We have no leader. For example: I do not lead Pandemic Legion, regardless how much others try to make it so on EN24/TMC/etc.

We're an FC chaos leadership model, with cat herders, enablers and one financier/executor. What this means is that any given time, we have a campaign commander who acts as our leader and depending on how they want to run things -- either have me/elise/etc as their backup or, like Fintroll (Billy Merc) say that they simply want to run it on their own. And the rest of us follow, or take a step back to let that campaign run it's course. It is a standard code of practice that if we don't agree with the direction the new campaign commander takes us -- we do not backseat/fling shit on the FC forums -- we shut the fuck up and just step out of the way. I've for example stepped out about 6 times during my stay in PL because I didn't agree with a campaign, but I let them get on with it and helped to advise if/when asked.

It comes with some problems internally, that's for sure -- and it provides out br0s out there even a bigger challenge until they either accept it or just say it's easier not to work with us (which we understand very well, trust me). But at the end of the day: it has worked for PL for the last god knows how many years and I fail to see any reason to break what is not broken, no matter how much it creeks when taking tight corners.

Now, to get to the present drama. First of all -- I can't really blame NORK members for this. But I blame them anyway, so right now -- every single PL member on a blue killmail has had their forums, services, irc, mumble, etcetc yanked. Why -- because the first hard lesson we expect new PL members to learn very fast is that in Pandemic Legion you are a member of the Alliance first, and Corporation second. And just because your CEO tells you to do something, doesn't mean you do it.

Grath Telkin is a combination of attention span of DHD, sense of direction of Montolio, attitute of Boodabooda and sperge level of everyone in ZULU put together.

But he is OUR Grath Telkin, who has proven himself to be more useful than most can even imagine. and it was due to this he was promoted to be the CEO of a corporation, which in PL essentially means you are a fucking cat herder we pin shit on when your members fuck  up. We've yet to have a case where the CEO of a corporation fucked up, but alas... we have it now -- and time will tell how we can deal with that particular new scenario. And there's no question that Grath fucked up. He fucked up baaaaaaad when he told his members to go shoot blues. (FYI: despite common opinion, shooting blues in PL is one of our cardinal sins. Probably because if it WASN'T -- we literally could not have any blues because they'd all get shot. So we take this VERY SERIOUSLY).

The right path here would have been for Grath to of course just reset standings. But like me, he cannot actually do this. I have no executor rights, neither does Grath nor any other FC/CEO of PL. And therefore to do this, he would have had to be calm and collected and say "I want to lead Pandemic Legion right now", then just have a 5min chat and a handover with me and Manfred Sideous who's out current campaign commander with my support. But there is no calm for some people, there is just SHOOT, MURDER, KILL.

 So for that, I apologize.

But with this apology comes a harsh reality: This is Pandemic Legion. We are not sane. We are your worst nightmare of a scitzo girlfriend, and we have knives. We've got more faggots than a gay parade in San Francisco, and we glardly promote the loudest, gayest, most pink one of them to be the parade leader if it's something they want to be. To be friends with us, you have to let go of your grasp of "normal" and accept we are gay, proud and fucking crazy.

If you can't -- that's ok, we understand. Some took a looooong time to get used to use, some were quick to exchange blowjobs in a tight spot. Some, we never got along.

So, for now -- what we're going to do is take a step back. We understand that some of you saw this gay pride just come out of the closet and you are probably a little.. taken back. So like a good understanding minority member, I think it's best for this gay pride to take a step back for now and let you admire this drag from a distance to measure and decide if you still want to fuck -- or if you prefer to just dance in the other corner of the disco.

tl;dr: for the next few days, PL will remain neutral and I'll ask general PL member groups to remain disabled/removed from forums. We'll decide on a direction in a few days after everyone has a chance to sober up and judge this queen without beer coggles.
Welcome to EVE. If you aren't busy finding some way to injure or at least mildly inconvenience another player, you have a lot of catching up to do.

PL's a small alliance, with very small actual power projection.
