sadly, alliance use of mobile labs has been removed in kali 2.0 due to it not working in the first place and fixing it requires huge amounts of programming resources from multiple departments due to the complexity of the mechanics behind it. I know its not the answer you wanted, but additions such as outpost upgrades which allow the possibility of super-lab research stations with lots of slots will ease the demand somewhat created by invention.
